Shersie Miller, BSc. PG Dip Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, MNCPS Accredited membership, BCA & BPS

As a Psychotherapist I have worked for several years in the NHS, as well as in mental health social care high support and as a student counsellor at University of Oxford. I support and empower individuals and couples to address life’s challenges in a holistic manner. I also provide group therapy and workshops.

Although I am psychodynamic trained I tailor the therapy to the needs of my clients. I have experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), person centred and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). My therapeutic approach enables adults to open up and build a non-judgemental therapeutic working relationship by working towards greater resilience, nurture, self-esteem and self-awareness. This then provides a safe space for reflection in order for them to reach their full potential.

I attained a BSc. in Psychology, Cert HE in Psychodynamic Counselling & Organisational Dynamics, PG Dip. in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Counselling from Birkbeck, University of London.

I quickly realised early on that I have a natural ability to understand peoples suffering and discomfort where I am able to empathise with their pain. I am able to listen, understand and help them out of their dark place or distress. My motivation as a psychotherapist is to nurture their inner child, alleviate and understanding their suffering to find a way forward for them to see the bigger picture, to overcome their pain and suffering. To regain their resilience and to see a bright future ahead.

Apart from being a busy parent to my 4 children, my happy place is being active, listening to music, keeping fit at the gym and enjoy Latin dancing. I enjoy visiting new places and learning new cultures. I can also get lost in a book whilst on the beach.
